Balochistan conflict intensifies amid insurgent attacks and reported airstrikes

The Balochistan region is experiencing intense conflict involving both insurgent operations and military airstrikes. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for 38 operations conducted between August 1 and August 8. The group reported that these attacks targeted military convoys, camps, police posts, and infrastructure, resulting in the deaths of over 32 Pakistani military personnel and operatives.

Simultaneously, human rights activists and local groups have reported significant civilian casualties following alleged Pakistani Air Force airstrikes in the Surab district. Activists claim that more than 30 civilians, including women and children, were killed in what they described as indiscriminate bombing in the Gidar area. Local leaders have called for an independent international investigation, alleging that security forces have restricted access for medical teams, journalists, and humanitarian aid to the affected zones.
