Balochistan human rights concerns rise amid reports of civilian killings

Reports from Balochistan indicate an escalation in human rights concerns involving Pakistani security forces. In Wadh Tehsil, Frontier Corps personnel allegedly opened fire during a raid on a residence, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and injuries to women and children. In the Kech district, a man named Akbar Haider was reportedly killed during a raid, while his son, Babar, was forcibly disappeared.

Human rights groups and local organizations, including the Baloch Voice for Justice and the Baloch National Movement, have condemned these actions, describing them as part of a broader pattern of extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and collective punishment. Recent reports also suggest a trend of targeting women through enforced disappearances and coerced confessions.
