Balochistan security concerns rise as four men disappear

Four men have reportedly gone missing in separate incidents across Balochistan, with allegations involving Pakistani security personnel. The missing individuals include Waleed Baloch, 25, from Gwadar, and three men from the Chagai district: Nisar Malang, 25; Muhammad Asif, 25; and Hafiz Zubair Ahmed, 23. Reports indicate that Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were allegedly involved in the detentions of the men in Chagai.

In a related development, a young man from Karachi’s Lyari neighborhood, identified as Shahzaib, was recovered from Uthal in the Lasbela district on October 7 after being missing since June.

Enforced disappearances remain a significant human rights issue in Balochistan. Families and rights organizations continue to accuse Pakistani security forces and intelligence agencies of detaining individuals without disclosing their whereabouts, leading to ongoing demands for legal safeguards and accountability.
