Balochistan unrest: BLA claims 52 deaths amid military crackdown

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for 28 operations across Balochistan between September 1 and 7, resulting in the deaths of 52 Pakistani security personnel. The group reported targeting various locations, including a sniper attack on an army camp in Kharan, mortar attacks, and the destruction of an airport site near Killa Abdullah. The BLA also claimed to have seized military equipment and vehicles during these engagements.

Simultaneously, increased military activity and stringent security measures in the region have led to the displacement of Baloch families. In the Ketch district, residents are reportedly fleeing ancestral homes due to a surge in checkpoints and constant drone surveillance. Local leaders, including the chairman of the Baloch National Movement, have accused the Pakistani military of human rights abuses, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, calling for international intervention.
