Pakistan security forces kill 49 militants in western provinces
Pakistani security forces and police have killed 49 militants during a series of intelligence-driven operations across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations targeted groups designated by authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12 militants were killed in operations spanning the Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai, and Khyber districts. In Balochistan, 37 militants were neutralized during 10 separate operations in the Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar, and Panjgur districts. Security forces reported recovering significant quantities of weapons, explosives, and remote-detonation equipment during these raids.
Separate incidents of violence were reported in the region. An explosion at an orchard in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung killed six people and wounded three. Additionally, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for seizing control of Sarnan town in the Pishin district, where a police station was destroyed. Other reports indicated armed fighters established blockades on major highways in Balochistan and targeted security personnel with improvised explosive devices near Makai.
