Baltic Power offshore wind farm completes turbine installation
The Baltic Power offshore wind farm, a joint venture between ORLEN and Northland Power, has completed the installation of all 76 wind turbines in the Baltic Sea. The installation campaign was executed by Cadeler using the jack-up vessels Wind Osprey and Wind Mover.
The project features 76 Vestas V236-15 MW turbines, which stand over 260 meters tall. Once fully operational, the 1.2 GW facility is expected to generate approximately 4 TWh of energy annually, covering about 3 percent of Poland’s electricity demand and supplying power to more than 1.5 million households.
The project has now entered the technological startup and integration testing phase with the national power grid. This includes rigorous reliability testing, such as a continuous 240-hour test, before the facility is formally handed over to the operational team.
