Bamba Dieng signs with Red Star Belgrade after failed Lazio transfer

Senegalese striker Bamba Dieng has officially signed a two-year contract with Red Star Belgrade, featuring an option for a third season. Dieng, 26, joins the Serbian champions as a free agent following his departure from FC Lorient. His arrival comes after a failed transfer to Lazio Rome, which collapsed when he did not pass a medical examination due to concerns regarding a knee injury.

Red Star Belgrade aims to bolster its offensive lineup for upcoming European competitions, including the Europa League. Dieng is expected to provide significant depth and goal-scoring potential under manager Albert Riera.

Concurrently, Lazio is shifting its transfer focus toward Sassuolo striker Andrea Pinamonti. Following the failed Dieng deal, the Italian club has reached a contractual agreement with Pinamonti and is currently negotiating the transfer structure with Sassuolo, weighing options between a loan with an obligation to buy versus a loan with an option to buy.
