Bamboo Airways faces scrutiny over flight cancellations and refund delays

The Vietnam Competition Commission (VCC), under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, has intervened following consumer complaints regarding delayed refunds from Bamboo Airways. The airline has been facing significant operational challenges, including frequent flight cancellations and schedule adjustments, largely due to a drastic reduction in its fleet size. Reports indicate the airline's fleet has shrunk from dozens of aircraft to just three active planes.

During a working session with the VCC, Bamboo Airways committed to increasing communication transparency and prioritizing resources to process passenger refund requests. The VCC has advised passengers to use the airline's official refund portal or contact their original point of purchase—whether direct via the website/app or through travel agencies—to ensure their legal rights are protected.

Amidst these operational shifts, FLC Group Chairman Trịnh Văn Quyết publicly expressed support for the airline's flight crews on social media, acknowledging the efforts of pilots and cabin crew during this period of transition.
