Banat folklore festivals scheduled for Timiș region

Traditional Banat folklore festivals are scheduled to take place in the Timiș region of Romania on August 15–16, 2026.

In Remetea Mare, the community will celebrate its traditional Ruga. The event begins on Saturday with a religious service at the local Orthodox Church, followed by an evening of folk music featuring Andreea Voica, Alexia Nicole Alb, Vlad Văcaru, and Daria Popescu. The second day includes a local football tournament, the “Cupa Comunei Remetea Mare,” and musical performances by Dumitru Teleagă (Meka) and Florin Boița.

Simultaneously, the Chișoda Ruga will be held near Timișoara at the Chișoda National House Summer Garden. The program includes folk music performances by Dumitru Stoicănescu, Andreea Chisăliță, and Andreea Voica. The festival also features literary recitations in the Banat dialect by local writers and traditional dances performed by the “Ghiocelul” Folk Ensemble from Giroc.
