Banco de Brasília assumes R$152.9 M loan tied to 3D Minerals

Banco de Brasília (BRB) took over a loan originally granted by Banco Master to mining firm 3D Minerals. The loan, amounting to R$ 152.9 million and dated 5 November 2024, was transferred to BRB on 22 July 2025. The move replaced credits that the Central Bank had flagged as fraudulent and that had previously been sold to the public bank by an entity linked to Daniel Vorcaro.

BRB disclosed that it purchased the loan for R$ 112 million, a discount of about 36 %, and that the loan is secured by 50 % of 3D Minerals’ shares. If the company defaults, BRB could gain control of those mining assets, which include rights to 35 mineral types across 116 areas in Brazil. BRB said it is implementing governance, compliance and risk‑management measures and is negotiating the sale of the acquired assets. The loan is part of the asset list in a judicial proceeding in São Paulo involving the Vorcaro family.
