Banco de Brasília faces acquisition rumors and fraud investigation

The Brasília Bankers' Union (Bancários-DF) has reported alleged negotiations regarding the potential sale of Banco de Brasília (BRB) to BTG Pactual. According to the union, BTG controller André Esteves reportedly met with BRB president Nelson Antônio de Souza to discuss an acquisition that might exclude current employees. The union claims political guidance suggests the sale could be finalized after the 2026 elections to minimize political fallout.

Separately, the defense for former banker Daniel Vorcaro has requested a delay of at least ten days for his scheduled testimony before the Supreme Federal Court (STF). The testimony is part of an investigation into alleged business fraud involving Banco Master and Banco de Brasília. Vorcaro's legal team argues they require more time to review the full contents of the investigation files before proceeding.
