Banco de Tierra del Fuego announces cybersecurity workshops

The Banco de Tierra del Fuego (BTF) is hosting a series of free community workshops titled “Digital Threats: When Technology Enhances Deception.” The initiative aims to educate the public on digital scams and fraud, specifically focusing on how artificial intelligence is being used to automate attacks, clone voices, and impersonate identities.

The sessions will be led by international specialist Emiliano Piscitelli, CEO of BeyGoo and director of the Social Engineering Research Group at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional de La Plata. The program will cover various methods used by cybercriminals, including phishing, vishing, smishing, QRishing, and identity theft.

Scheduled events will take place in Río Grande on October 19, Tolhuin on October 20, and Ushuaia on October 21. This edition will feature a panel of experts including representatives from the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Provincial Police, and the BTF.
