Banco do Brasil opens rural credit renegotiation under MP 1.376/2026
Banco do Brasil has opened renegotiation processes for rural credit operations under the provisions of Provisional Measure (MP) No. 1.376/2026. The initiative aims to support the recovery of productive capacity and financial regularization for producers and cooperatives that suffered losses due to climate events or market fluctuations across two or more harvests between 2019 and 2025.
In the Northeast region, approximately 17,500 clients are potentially eligible, representing a volume of up to R$ 10.4 billion. In the North region, about 11,300 clients may benefit, with a total volume of up to R$ 9.3 billion. Nationally, Banco do Brasil identifies approximately 113,000 clients with potentially eligible operations, totaling up to R$ 100 billion.
Gilson Bittencourt, Vice President of Agribusiness and Family Farming at Banco do Brasil, stated that the measure is a significant instrument to support rural producers who have faced difficulties, particularly those linked to adverse climate events affecting production and income generation.
