Banco Popular inaugurates BP Total Catedral in San José
Banco Popular has opened BP Total Catedral, a new service concept located in the Metropolitan Building behind the Metropolitan Cathedral in central San José. The facility is designed to blend digital banking advantages with personalized guidance to assist users in navigating new technologies.
The office features a technological lobby that includes self-service screens, digital service tables for learning to use the Banca Móvil BPDC app, and an ‘Asesor Online’ service providing access to 57 different services via video calls with specialists. To support the transition to digital tools, the branch employs digital promoters and service guides to assist customers.
General Manager Gina Carvajal Vega stated that the transformation aims to simplify transactions while ensuring human support remains available for those who need it. The bank reported that approximately 92% of its transactions were conducted through digital channels as of the end of the first half of 2026.
