Banco Santander backs Spain's agri‑food sector with €235 m and expands student scholarships
Banco Santander has allocated €235 million in financing to the agri‑food sector of Castilla y León. The funding targets modernization projects such as automation, digitalisation, artificial‑intelligence applications and precision agriculture, as well as the expansion of high‑value crops and export capacity.
The bank also renewed a two‑year partnership with the University of Castilla‑La Mancha through Santander Universidades. The agreement supports roughly 1,500 beneficiaries, including 188 €1,000 Erasmus scholarships, 257 €200 Erasmus grants, 79 €1,000 study aids, a €12,000 Excellence 360º award, €67,500 for practice‑placement supplements and €8,000 for entrepreneurship prizes. It also provides access to the Santander Open Academy, Santander X platforms and Universia services.
