Bandai expands Gashapon brand with major event and new specialty shop

Bandai is expanding its Gashapon capsule toy brand through a major upcoming event and a new specialized retail location in Japan.

In October 2026, the brand will host ‘Gashapon Friends Tour 2026’ at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro. The three-day event, themed around travel, will feature over 350 types of items, including new releases scheduled between September and November. The exhibition will include a ‘Gashapon Sea’ area for massive product displays and a ‘Gashapon Island’ area showcasing original series and trending items.

Additionally, a new Gashapon Bandai Official Shop is scheduled to open on August 21, 2026, at Central Cinema Sanko in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture. This large-scale specialty store will feature 210 machines and will carry the full range of Bandai’s new capsule toy products. The shop will also offer a service for customers to pick up items purchased through the official online store.
