Bandai Namco announces Code Vein II DLC and free 2.0 update

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that the action RPG Code Vein II will receive a major paid expansion titled ‘Mask of Idris’ alongside a free version 2.0 update on September 9.

The ‘Mask of Idris’ DLC introduces a new area called the ‘Discarded World’ and features an alternate timeline story with new buddy characters. Players who complete the DLC will unlock ‘Another Color’ outfits for all 14 available buddy characters. Access to the DLC requires players to have reached the ‘Moon of Harmony’ ending and completed a specific quest involving Valentin.

The free 2.0 update includes several significant features based on community feedback:

• ‘Era of Harmony’: Post-game content allowing players to explore the world with buddies and complete short episodes to earn new Blood Codes. • ‘Trials of Recollection’: A boss-rush mode offering over 90 new customization parts as rewards. • ‘Story-Focused Mode’: An optional setting that boosts player stats to ease combat difficulty. • ‘Legacy’ Shader: A visual option that mimics the art style of the original Code Vein. • Enhanced Photo Mode and Jukebox: New poses, frames, and a music player featuring tracks from the Code Vein and God Eater series.
