Bandai Namco releases Code Vein II DLC and free update

Overview

Bandai Namco has released the ‘Mask of Idris’ expansion and Free Update Version 2.0 for the action RPG Code Vein II.

The DLC is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Set in the ‘Discarded World’—a dimension created by temporal alterations—the expansion introduces the character Liv Voda, a guardian of space and time, along with new partner Lou Magmel and a character known as the ‘Mask of Passion.’ To access this content, players must reach the ‘Luna Fraterna’ or ‘Moon of Harmony’ ending and complete the ‘Valentin’s Request’ sub-mission. Completing the expansion unlocks ‘Another Color’ outfits for all 14 available buddy characters.

Simultaneously, the free 2.0 update has launched, incorporating several community-requested features:

• ‘Era of Harmony’ (also referred to as ‘Age of Harmony’): Post-game content allowing players to explore the world with buddies to earn new Blood Codes, featuring short episodes for each character and new stories to deepen partner bonds. • ‘Trials of Recollection’ (or ‘Trials of Remembrance’): A boss-rush mode where players face bosses from the base game and the DLC to earn over 90 customization parts. • ‘Story-Focused Mode’: An optional setting to boost player stats and ease combat difficulty. • Visual and Media Enhancements: A ‘Legacy’ shader to mimic the original Code Vein art style, an enhanced Photo Mode, and a Jukebox featuring tracks from the Code Vein and God Eater series.
