Bandai Namco announces Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3

Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially announced Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3, the latest entry in the long-running mecha combat series. Unveiled during a 40th-anniversary livestream for Gundam games, the new title will be a free-to-play team-based action game available on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

The sequel introduces several key features, including full cross-play support between PS5 and Steam from launch. Gameplay will continue to blend large-scale Mobile Suit combat with infantry actions, allowing players to exit their cockpits to plant explosives, capture objectives, or request support fire.

Technical improvements include enhanced high-fidelity graphics, a redesigned user interface, and a new “Battle Assist” feature to help players execute complex combos. Additionally, all units will feature “SP Skills,” unique abilities designed to differentiate combat roles.

While the series has traditionally focused on the Universal Century timeline, the new game will feature units from various Gundam universes, including Mobile Suit Gundam SEED at launch. A network test for existing Battle Operation 2 players is scheduled to take place in Japan in late November 2026.
