Bandai Namco enables standalone Steam release for Ace Combat Zero

Bandai Namco Entertainment has released the Steam port of ‘Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War’ as a standalone application. Previously, the game was provided as a pre-order bonus for ‘Ace Combat 8: Wings of the Eve’, but required users to install the full 140GB ‘Ace Combat 8’ client to play it.

Following user feedback regarding the massive storage requirement and confusion over the delivery method, the company apologized for the lack of clear guidance. The new standalone version requires only 3.2GB of storage space. While the game remains accessible via the ‘Ace Combat 8’ launch options, players can now download it individually through its own dedicated Steam store page.

Due to fighter jet licensing restrictions, the game will not be available for individual purchase and remains exclusive to ‘Ace Combat 8’ pre-order customers. The standalone version supports Steam Cloud for save data synchronization and Steam Achievements, which will automatically unlock for players who have already made progress in the previous version.
