Bandai Namco releases free update and anniversary DLC for Super Robot Wars Y

Bandai Namco announced a free version 1.4.0 update for the tactical RPG Super Robot Wars Y to mark the series' 35th anniversary. The update adds two commemorative missions, raises the maximum pilot level from 150 to 200 and introduces a new BOOST mode that doubles experience, credit and MXP gains while halving upgrade costs. It also restores combination attacks.

Alongside the free patch, the company released a paid Anniversary Expansion Pack that adds 33 new area missions, a bonus mission, five new playable units—including the Gundam Calibarn from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury—one new assistant crew member and twelve new weapons. The expansion requires the base game and is not compatible with earlier editions.

A separate torrent site is distributing a cracked version of Super Robot Wars Y, offering the full game and its DLC for free via direct download links. The illegal copy claims to provide the same content as the official releases but bypasses purchase requirements.
