Bandit attacks in Nigeria kill former official, injure others and abduct civilians
Suspected bandits killed Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed, a former Director of Personnel Management for Ngaski Local Government Area in Kebbi State, during a midnight raid on his home in Yauri. The attackers also abducted his wife, Rukayyatu Abdullahi, and a teacher, Malama Maryam Sale, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
In Kaduna State, gunmen opened fire on the vehicle of the Emir of Birnin‑Gwari, wounding the driver and an orderly; no fatalities were reported in that incident. The same day, bandits killed two people on separate attacks in the state and were linked to additional robberies and road blockades.
Security forces have responded to the incidents, neutralising several suspects and recovering a vehicle used in the Kebbi attack, while rescue efforts for the abducted women continue.
