Nigeria security forces conduct multiple operations against insurgents and bandits
Nigerian security forces have conducted several operations across the country to combat insurgency and banditry. In the North-West, Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued a 43-year-old man from kidnappers in Kaduna State and neutralized one terrorist during a pursuit following an attack in Sokoto State.
In Kaduna, bandits killed a Joint Task Force member and a prominent businessman, while also abducting a mother and her son in Chikun Local Government Area. In Borno State, troops from Operation LAFIYA DOLE eliminated seven Boko Haram fighters near the Sambisa Forest while they were attempting to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Additionally, the Nigerian Army rescued four civilians, including two women and two minors, who had been held captive by Boko Haram or ISWAP terrorists for approximately three years in the Kukawa Local Government Area. Meanwhile, Senator Ali Ndume has urged the military to intensify efforts to secure the release of 78 school children and one teacher abducted from the Mussa and Lassa communities in Southern Borno.
