Bandung airport Husein Sastranegara set for reactivation in September 2026

The Bandung City Government announced that Husein Sastranegara International Airport will resume operations in September 2026. Tourism officials expect the reopening to attract more visitors from within Indonesia and ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, supporting hotels, restaurants and travel agencies.

Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said the initial phase will focus on domestic routes, with international flights remaining centered at Kertajati Airport while the suitability of Husein for overseas services is evaluated. Preparations include repairing the runway and other long‑unused facilities before the airport can safely handle passenger traffic again.
