Bandung Mayor condemns attack on Persib U-18 academy group

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan has strongly condemned a violent attack on the Persib Bandung U-18 academy group at the KM 360 Rest Area in Batang, Central Java, which occurred on Sunday night, October 11.

The incident involved violence against students and officials, as well as the destruction of vehicles and personal property. Farhan has called on the Indonesian National Police to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure justice for the victims and to hold the perpetrators accountable.

In response to the incident, the Bandung City Government, in coordination with the PSSI Bandung Provincial Association, plans to provide psychological assistance to the players, officials, and their families to address potential trauma. Additionally, the Mayor intends to work with Persib management to establish better security protocols and protection mechanisms for academy teams during away trips to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
