Bandung readies Husein Sastranegara Airport for 2026 reopening

The Bandung city government is upgrading access roads, drainage, lighting and vegetation around Husein Sastranegara Airport to prepare for its reactivation, scheduled for 17 September 2026. Works include paving, road marking, drainage normalization and tree pruning, overseen by the municipal Water Resources and Public Works department.

InJourney Airports (PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia) is also enhancing airport safety and security, adding Aviation Security personnel and expanding Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting capacity. The effort involves coordination with the Ministry of Transportation, West Java province, the Indonesian Air Force and other stakeholders to ensure the airport meets regulatory standards before commercial jet operations resume.
