BanEcuador provides USD 9.1 million in transport sector financing

BanEcuador has disbursed more than USD 9.1 million in financing to 336 beneficiaries within the transport sector so far in 2026. The funds are intended to support the acquisition, maintenance, and renewal of passenger and cargo transport units across Ecuador.

The financing is distributed across three specific credit lines:

• Impulso Transporte: USD 3.9 million allocated for working capital, maintenance, and operational needs such as repairs and safety systems, with loans ranging from USD 5,000 to USD 20,000.

• BanTransporte: USD 3.4 million provided for the purchase of new vehicles for urban, interurban, public, private, and cargo transport, with amounts between USD 5,000 and USD 150,000.

• Nuevo Transporte: USD 1.8 million dedicated to the renewal of vehicles that have reached the end of their useful life through a government scrappage plan. This line supports the acquisition of new or used units using either fossil fuels or electric technology, with loans between USD 5,000 and USD 150,000.
