Bangchak Group finds no leaks in oil pipeline after investigation

Bangchak Group, through its subsidiary Bangkok Fuel Pipeline and Logistics Co., Ltd. (BFPL), has reported that recent pressure tests confirmed no leaks in the oil pipeline system following reports of oil contamination in drainage systems near Chuea Phloeng Road and the Rama 3 elevated bridge.

Investigations began on September 7, with oil transport suspended on September 8 to allow for detailed inspections. While ground excavations on September 10 revealed one location where water was mixed with oil, the exact source could not be identified. Subsequent pressure testing on September 11, which increased pressure from 10 barg to the operational standard of 28 barg, showed no abnormal pressure drops or liquid seepage.

The inspection process was conducted under the supervision of the Department of Energy Business, the Pollution Control Department, and the Khlong Toei District Office. Moving forward, BFPL plans to conduct further assessments using ultrasonic testing (UT Scan), radar scanning, and an intelligent pig inspection next week to ensure the integrity of the pipeline.
