Bangkok Business Summit 2026 focuses on Thailand's economic reinvention
The Bangkok Business Summit 2026, held under the theme ‘Reinvent Thailand, Resilient ASEAN’, brought together the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB), the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Thailand, and the World Bank to discuss Thailand’s economic future.
Key discussions focused on transforming Thailand into a regional investment hub and a high-income nation. The World Bank released a report titled ‘Building Thailand’s Future Today: The Investment and Growth Playbook’, which outlines strategies for increasing productivity and long-term growth through structural reforms.
Payong Srivanich, Co-Chairman of the JSCCIB, emphasized that transitioning to a low-carbon economy is essential for maintaining national competitiveness. He noted that as global supply chains shift toward sustainability, Thailand must integrate SMEs into green value chains and improve climate change resilience to attract future-oriented industries. This transition is viewed as a critical engine for growth to counter projected medium-term economic slowdowns.
