Bangkok declares disaster in all 50 districts amid severe flooding FAST-MOVING

Bangkok authorities have declared a disaster zone across all 50 districts of the Thai capital following three days of relentless rainfall. Since Thursday afternoon, the city has recorded nearly 300 millimeters of rain, causing widespread flooding that has inundated roads, homes, and businesses. The eastern and central parts of the city have been most heavily impacted, with major canals reaching full capacity and overflowing into surrounding areas.

More than 84,000 people across 21 provinces in Thailand have been affected by the flooding. The Thailand Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains may continue through Sunday due to a low-pressure system and strengthening monsoon conditions. In response, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has activated emergency measures, including the establishment of temporary shelters and the coordination of drainage operations.

Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has advised residents to move vehicles to higher ground and has urged bedridden patients or those dependent on vital medical equipment to consider temporary hospital admission. Despite the flooding in adjacent districts, Suvarnabhumi Airport has confirmed that flight operations and terminal services remain fully functional, though travelers are advised to allow extra commuting time due to road disruptions.
