Bangladesh Cricket Board seeks window for future series against India

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Tamim Iqbal expressed optimism regarding the possibility of hosting a home white-ball series against India in the future. The proposed tour, consisting of three ODIs and three T20Is, was originally intended for August-September but has been postponed due to India’s scheduled T20I series against Afghanistan.

Iqbal stated that both the BCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are actively searching for a suitable window in their respective schedules to facilitate the matches. He emphasized that intentions between the two governing bodies remain positive and that discussions are ongoing to determine potential dates.

The push for the series follows a period of strained relations between the two cricket boards. Tensions arose earlier this year following Bangladesh’s withdrawal from the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup in India due to security concerns, as well as complications surrounding Mustafizur Rahman’s IPL contract. Iqbal acknowledged that previous administrative handling of these disputes could have been improved.
