Bangladesh government responds to assault on actress Ajmeri Haque Bandhan in Italy

The Bangladesh government has expressed strong condemnation following an assault on Bangladeshi actress Ajmeri Haque Bandhan in Venice, Italy. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir informed the National Parliament that the incident is viewed as an attack on democratic governance.

Diplomatic efforts are underway to ensure Bandhan’s safety and legal recourse. The Bangladesh Embassy in Rome and the Consulate General in Milan are maintaining direct contact with her to provide consular assistance. The Minister noted that Bandhan intends to file formal complaints with both the local police and the embassy. The government has pledged to pursue strict legal action against those responsible and will continue to support her throughout the legal proceedings in Italy.
