Bangladesh government expresses regret over Radda health center and studio attacks

The Bangladesh government has expressed regret and embarrassment following attacks and vandalism at the Radda MCH-FP Center and the studio of content creator Salman Muktadir. Jahed ur Rahman, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Information and Broadcasting, stated during a press briefing that the government feels responsible for the failure to ensure citizen security and promised that anyone found involved in the incidents would be brought to justice.

In response to allegations linking the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to the attacks, the party has launched an internal investigation. The BNP is reportedly examining whether any party leaders or activists provided incitement or involvement in the incidents. Specifically, allegations have surfaced regarding the role of local BNP members in mobilizing attackers and providing equipment during the raid on the Radda health center.

Following the incidents, more than ten individuals have been arrested. Additionally, the officer-in-charge of Shah Ali Police Station has been removed from his post due to evidence of negligence in duty. Efforts to repair the damaged facilities and resume essential services, such as vaccination programs, are currently underway.
