Banglamung Police arrest 21-year-old in undercover drug sting

Banglamung police arrested a 21-year-old Thai-European man, identified as Richard Seliger, following an undercover operation in the Naklua area of Pattaya. The arrest occurred after an informant arranged to purchase an etomidate pod, classified as a Category 2 narcotic, for 1,500 baht via Facebook.

During the sting operation in Soi Phothisan, officers observed the suspect hand over the pod before taking him into custody. A subsequent search of the suspect's rented room uncovered ten K-pod cartridges, ten additional pods in “Mango” branded packaging, approximately 0.51 grams of ketamine, and various drug paraphernalia, including used vaporizer heads and mouthpieces.

The investigation was prompted by reports from local youths regarding illegal drug sales near the 100-Year-Old Market. The suspect faces charges related to the sale and attempted sale of etomidate for commercial purposes, as well as the unauthorized possession of the substance.
