Bank Bengkulu hosts public Simpeda lottery as savings reach Rp74.86 trillion

The national Simpeda savings lottery peak event was held in Bengkulu, marking the first time the ceremony was opened to the general public. Following directions from the Governor of Bengkulu, Bank Bengkulu transitioned the event from a closed or semi-open format to a public one to strengthen its connection with the local community. The lottery featured a main prize of Rp500 million and four additional prizes of Rp100 million each.

As of June 2026, Simpeda savings reached approximately Rp74.86 trillion. Agus H. Widodo, Chairman of the Association of Regional Development Banks (Asbanda), stated that this figure reflects significant public trust in regional development banks (BPD) across Indonesia. He emphasized that these funds are managed prudently to provide financing for MSMEs and local businesses to drive regional economies.

Moving forward, Asbanda is encouraging BPDs to modernize Simpeda by enhancing digital experiences. The goal is to make the savings product more relevant to daily consumer behavior through improved digital services, including easier payments, transfers, and merchant transactions, while maintaining its core strength of local community proximity.
