Bank Jakarta aims to become the capital’s financial operating system as Citi eyes Indonesia’s growth
Bank Jakarta announced plans to evolve into a “financial operating system” for Jakarta, linking citizens, micro‑SMEs, investors and the city government through an integrated finance platform. Director‑General Agus H. Widodo said, “Jakarta does not lack buildings, roads or technology. What still needs strengthening is the connection between residents and services, MSMEs and markets, investors and opportunities, and the government with the people.” The bank intends to expand financial inclusion, provide housing financing and boost investment climate to support the capital’s transformation into a global, inclusive city.
Citi highlighted Indonesia as a key strategic market for its sustainable growth agenda. Citi Indonesia CEO Batara Sianturi told investors, “Our international network and disciplined approach … continue to drive strong growth.” Citi reiterated its commitment to delivering best‑in‑class solutions, leveraging its global platform that processes about US$6 trillion daily, to support Indonesia’s economic development and its own long‑term performance targets.
