Bank Mandiri expands financial inclusion and women's empowerment in Indonesia

Bank Mandiri is broadening its financial‑inclusion ecosystem across Indonesia, aiming to reach families, migrant workers and small‑enterprise owners. By the end of 2025 the bank plans to open around 3.5 million new accounts, support 963 thousand KUR borrowers and deliver about Rp 40.99 trillion in credit to 355 658 micro‑, small‑ and medium‑sized enterprises, with a focus on agriculture, processing and fisheries.

In Central Java, the bank is backing a women‑focused entrepreneurship programme that supplies egg‑incubator machines and other equipment to a local cooperative in Kendal Regency. Targeting women aged 18‑45 from the poorest households, the scheme promotes village‑level egg‑laying chicken farms, linking producers to the cooperative for stable marketing and aiming to raise family incomes, lessen dependency on welfare and improve local protein supplies.
