Bank of Greece reports unchanged loan demand in Q2 2026
The Bank of Greece said total loan demand from non‑financial enterprises and households remained essentially flat in the second quarter of 2026. Lending criteria and overall terms for credit to non‑financial enterprises were unchanged, as were the criteria for household mortgages and consumer loans. The volume of business loan applications stayed steady, and the rejection rate for corporate loans did not vary from the previous quarter. For the third quarter, banks expect demand from both sectors to stay near‑constant. Mortgage loan terms saw a modest adjustment, while consumer loan conditions remained unchanged.
