Bank Syariah Indonesia posts 17.8% profit jump, funds free nutrition program

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) recorded a net profit of Rp 2.8 trillion for the quarter ending April 2026, a 17.79% increase over the same period a year earlier. The bank’s total assets grew 12.17% to Rp 452 trillion, with CASA deposits reaching 63.48% of total funds. Loan financing rose 15.59% to Rp 332 trillion, while the gross non‑performing financing ratio improved to 1.8%. The higher earnings are expected to boost the company’s zakat contribution to about Rp 72 billion.

BSI also expanded its support for government social initiatives, disbursing Rp 198 billion to the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program covering 211 kitchen units nationwide. Additional outreach includes financing for the Koperasi Desa Merah Putih scheme and Rp 2.62 trillion in Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) loans to more than 17,000 micro‑businesses.
