Regional Development Banks in Indonesia reach Rp1,043 trillion in assets

The Association of Regional Development Banks (Asbanda) reports that the total assets of 27 Regional Development Banks (BPD) reached approximately Rp1,043 trillion as of June 2026. These banks hold roughly Rp673 trillion in credit and Rp770 trillion in third-party funds.

Specifically, the Simpeda savings account balance has reached Rp75 trillion. Asbanda Chairman Agus Haryoto Widodo emphasized that this figure reflects high public trust in regional banks. He noted that these funds are redistributed to support the economy, including financing for MSMEs and businesses.

To maintain competitiveness and meet changing consumer behaviors, Asbanda is urging BPDs to strengthen their digital services. The association highlighted the need for modernizing the Simpeda ecosystem through improved digital transactions, merchant networks, and integrated payment systems while maintaining high service quality.
