Bankstown and Norths claim NBL1 East championships

The NBL1 East basketball season concluded with championship victories for the Bankstown Bruins and the Norths Bears.

In the women's division, the Bankstown Bruins secured their first NBL1 East title by defeating the defending champion Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 90-85. Shyla Heal was named Grand Final MVP after scoring 26 points, supported by Tahlia Tupaea, who completed a perfect 19-for-19 from the free-throw line.

In the men's division, the Norths Bears claimed their fourth men's championship, the first since 2017, with a 76-64 victory over the Sutherland Sharks at Guzman y Gomez Stadium. Key performances included Wani Swaka Lo Buluk, who scored 18 points, and Fabijan Krslovic, who was named Grand Final MVP.
