Banreservas tourism portfolio exceeds RD$60,000 million

Banreservas has announced that its tourism credit portfolio has exceeded RD$60,000 million. During the opening of the Punta Bergantín Welcome Center in Puerto Plata, Executive President Leonardo Aguilera highlighted the bank's role as a primary financier for the country's hotel and infrastructure expansion.

The bank is currently evaluating over 40 projects with projected investments exceeding US$6,161 million. These initiatives are expected to add approximately 16,000 hotel rooms and include developments in health tourism, cruise terminals, and theme parks. The bank has already supported the construction of over 7,000 rooms, contributing to an estimated 16,000 direct and indirect jobs.

In addition to large-scale infrastructure, Banreservas is providing financing for specific residential projects within Punta Bergantín, such as Villas Hacienda Serena and Velavento apartments. The Punta Bergantín project is transitioning from the planning phase to physical execution, supported by connectivity improvements like the Autopista del Ámbar.
