Banten police return stolen motorcycles free of charge while Central Java police unveil major theft and drug crackdown
The Banten Regional Police (Polda Banten) announced that 13 motorcycles recovered from recent thefts will be returned to their owners at no cost, provided they present valid ownership documents such as a registration certificate or vehicle title. The seized bikes were linked to owners across Lebak, Pandeglang, Serang, and Tangerang districts, and the police emphasized free restitution as part of their victim‑service commitment.
In Central Java, the Regional Police (Polda Jawa Tengah) reported that investigations during June 2026 uncovered 75 cases of theft‑related crimes—including vehicle theft—resulting in the arrest of 121 suspects and affecting 78 victims. The same police force also disclosed that from January to June 2026, 1,201 drug‑related offenses were uncovered, leading to 1,485 arrests and the seizure of roughly 215.8 kg of illicit substances. Additional investigations revealed cases of child abuse and sexual violence in the Kudus and Semarang areas.
Both provinces highlighted ongoing efforts to combat theft, drug trafficking, and violence, urging the public to cooperate with authorities and adopt preventive measures such as secure vehicle locking.
