Barabanki police officer under investigation after viral threat video

A video of a police constable, identified as Kapil Tiwari, threatening a driver has gone viral in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. In the footage, the officer is heard telling the driver, Vishal Yadav, that he would beat him in broad daylight and that he could go to the Superintendent of Police or a judge if he wished.

The incident reportedly occurred during the night of August 21-22 near the Sarathra village Hanuman temple while Tiwari and another recruit were on patrol. According to police, the dispute began when Yadav, driving a Swift car, allegedly used offensive language due to dissatisfaction with a case filed against him on August 20. During the confrontation, Yadav recorded the interaction.

Barabanki Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvergiya has ordered a formal investigation into the matter. Authorities stated that once the investigation confirms the facts regarding the officer's behavior and the circumstances of the dispute, appropriate departmental action will be taken.
