Barack Obama criticizes Trump administration over Russia and Ukraine policy

Former U.S. President Barack Obama has criticized the Trump administration, alleging that the White House is “bowing to Putin” and betraying Ukraine. Speaking at a campaign rally in Georgia, Obama claimed the administration is distancing itself from traditional allies, such as Canada, while making concessions to Russia.

These remarks come as the Trump administration attempts to mediate an agreement between Russia and Ukraine. Recent actions, including an agreement regarding Russian diesel deliveries and the temporary relaxation of certain sanctions, have drawn criticism from those who argue these measures benefit Moscow economically without significantly lowering U.S. fuel prices.

Separately, Romanian officials are engaged in discussions with the United States regarding the costs of maintaining American military presence in Romania. Foreign Minister Dan Neculăescu confirmed that Bucharest has submitted a proposal to Washington to share these expenses, describing the U.S. military presence as a major strategic interest for Romania. Presidential Counselor Marius Lazurca is currently in the U.S. to discuss security cooperation and the grave situation in the Black Sea region.
