Barahona experiences two heavy vehicle incidents in 24 hours
Two separate incidents involving heavy vehicles carrying construction materials occurred in Barahona, Dominican Republic, within a 24-hour period.
On Tuesday, a load of blocks fell from a heavy vehicle onto a car in the El Cachón municipal district. The incident caused damage to the car's hood but no injuries were reported. This follows a Monday incident where a truck transporting eight-inch blocks reportedly lost its brakes while descending a road in El Brisal. The driver managed to avoid pedestrians while traveling at high speed through the ‘Esquina Caliente’ area of Cabral.
Local residents in Cabral, El Cachón, and Barahona have expressed growing concern regarding the safety of heavy vehicles transporting construction materials on local roads.
