Barahona motorcycle and truck collision leaves one dead

A collision between a motorcycle and a truck on the Sánchez highway in Barahona, Dominican Republic, resulted in one death and one injury on Thursday morning. The accident occurred on the stretch between the Pescadería junction and the community of La Hoya.

Preliminary reports suggest the motorcycle was traveling without lights in a low-visibility area, making it difficult for the occupants to see the truck, which had stopped on the road. Following the impact, one person died at the scene, while the other was injured and transported to the Jaime Mota University Regional Hospital for medical attention.

The victims are reportedly natives of the Altagracia settlement in the municipality of Fundación. Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances to determine the cause of the collision.
