Barahona Patron Saint Festivals 2026 officially begin
Mayor Míctor Fernández officially opened the 2026 Barahona Patron Saint Festivals with a coronation ceremony held at the Luis Ayala Hall.
During the event, 19-year-old university student Lukeisy Yaneri Betances Gómez was crowned queen of the festivities. Olgarina Ramírez García, a 19-year-old gymnastics teacher, was named vice-queen. The mayor emphasized the importance of preserving the cultural and religious traditions that define the history of Barahona, noting that the new representatives will promote local values and identity throughout the scheduled activities.
