Barahona to host cultural commemorations and patron saint festivals

Barahona will host several cultural events in late 2026. On September 26, a horseback procession will commemorate the historical visit of José Martí to the region in September 1892. The event, which includes the Cuban Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, follows the route Martí traveled while seeking solidarity for Cuban independence.

Additionally, the Barahona Patron Saint and Cultural Festivals will take place from October 2 to October 7, 2026, in honor of Nuestra Señora del Rosario. The festival features a musical lineup including Joe Veras, Lápiz Conciente, La Insuperable, and Secreto.
