Barasuara to compose soundtrack for film GJLS Berapi-Api

The Indonesian music group Barasuara has been confirmed to compose the soundtrack for the upcoming comedy film ‘GJLS Berapi-Api’. During Ideafest 2026, vocalist and guitarist Iga Massardi described the project as a unique challenge because the film's vibe differs significantly from their previous work.

To create the music, the band reviewed the film's draft to map out the necessary atmosphere for various scenes. As a creative touch, the band decided to start the first verse of the song with the initials ‘G J L S’ to reference the film's title. Despite the film being a comedy, Massardi noted that the band chose not to make the music overly comedic to ensure they maintain their established musical character.
